Both antivirus programs come with a range of features. Both antivirus services provide the latest malware protection as well as PC tuning, password managers, and webcam protection. They also include extras like VPNs, file shredders and anti-tracker software.

In AV-Comparatives‘ October 2019 performance test, both Bitdefender and Kaspersky had excellent system usage rates. Both used less computer specs than Windows Defender, and did not cause noticeable slowdowns. It’s important to note that if an antivirus application slows down a computer, it’s not doing its job.

Despite having the same price, Kaspersky has a few more unique and useful features than Bitdefender. For example its Timeline is a neat feature that lets you see everything it has done on your computer in chronological order. Additionally, its Notification Center is super helpful in resolving security issues without having to leave the screen.

Kaspersky’s firewall security is another area where it has an edge. Its advanced system control utilizes whitelisting for applications to block access that is not authorized. It also includes more features than Bitdefender’s basic security suite. It also includes a handy rescue environment that allows you to boot into a clean version Windows 10 and remove deeply embedded malware types.

Both programs provide good support options. Kaspersky provides remote assistance as well as email, chat and phone support. Bitdefender provides all three. Both also have knowledge bases specifically for users that are a great resource for answering common questions.
